IZN ANBESSAS is a crew consisting of RasMarcel, LightAdey and ZebLion three artists with a common denominator: Rastafari spirituality and, of course, the love for music.

The LP brings the listener to explore very different sounds and styles, with genuine and powerful lyrics, and original melodies played with a chromatic harmonica as never heard before. A voluntary curious musical project spreading Word, Sound and Power.

An original roots reggae production with a powerful and deep sound, mastered by Manasseh (UK), and handmade graphics by artists Ras Julio and Cosimo Grecucci.

The name ‘IZN Anbessas’ comes from the three countries of origin of the three ‘lions’: Italy, Zambia and Nigeria. Lion in Amharic is called ‘Anbessa’. The sound ‘IZN’ recalls ‘Ises’ or praises to God and also recalls ‘Zion’ or the ‘Holy place’ or ‘Kingdom of Heaven’.

The collaboration between the three began spontaneously, genuinely, taking it simply as a ‘mission’ to spread positive energies and Rastafari spirituality to the four corners of the earth. Everyone contributes according to their own attitude, inspiration, culture and personality, all lyrics and compositions are 100% original.

ZebLion is an eclectic artist born and living in Zambia where he distinguishes himself with his unmistakable original voice and style, a natural and spontaneous talent that immediately strikes the listener’s ear with his typical sweet melodies, sharp lyrics and vocalisations that contribute to the diffusion of positive frequencies by breaking down the negativity of this world.

“We ah put on the stone wash just like the Rockers” – ZebLion

LightAdey is a guitarist, composer, producer and showman, born and bred in Nigeria before moving to Italy recently, he stands out for his pure talent, genuineness, and engaging energy able to collaborate on different fronts thanks to his versatility and flair.

“The mighty rockers in the roots party” – LightAdey

RasMarcel is an artist who grew up in Salento (IT), first trained in traditional local reggae and later growing up in the Rastafari Livity. As happened to some great masters of Jazz and Classical music, RasMarcel also contracted the ‘Chromatic Harmonica virus’ but decided to use this apparently poor and sometimes mistreated instrument, yet at the same time mysterious and complex, to create mystical Rastafari sounds.

”Roots and culture from IZN sounds” – RasMarcel
